Super Bowl LV – The Weeknd to remember

There were a number of reasons to remember Super Bowl LV .
It was billed as the ‘matchup for the ages’. Having spent 20 seasons with the New England Patriots, the evergreen quarterback Tom Brady was aiming to lead his new team, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, to victory against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs have their own star quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, a mere 25-year-old. The age gap between the quarterbacks, 18 years, was the largest gap in history.  Adding some more spice to the history, Tampa Bay became the first team to host a Super Bowl in their own stadium, the Raymond James Stadium known as “Ray Jay”. The capacity of the stadium is 65,890 which could have been sold many times over. But this was a Covid Super Bowl, and the capacity was reduced to 22,000 fans, of which 7,500 were health care workers invited by the league to thank them for their wonderful service during the pandemic.

Maybe it was not surprising that the halftime show also represented a change from the norm. Last year’s theme was dance, dance, dance with Shakira and JLO leading the way.  Super Bowl LV had The Weeknd leading the way. Not only leading the way, but breaking tradition in not having famous guests alongside.  A Canadian with a real name of Abel Tesfaye, when starting 10 years ago The Weeknd was fairly anonymous. Not so now, with more than 100 million viewers and songs recognised worldwide. What he brought to the game was a show worthy of Las Vegas, not only in terms of the size of the set and backup team, but also the power of the light show which supported the traditional firework displays. The hit songs kept coming including “After Hours”, “Starboy”, “Can’t Feel My Face” and “The Hills”. Wearing his trademark red sequin jacket he gave glitter to the event that made history in many ways.

fantastic points altogether, you simply won a new reader. What would you suggest about your put up that you made some days in the past?

    Any positive?
