Rihanna (32) landed in hot water for posting a topless photo of herself on Instagram and Twitter wearing a pendant of the Hindu God Ganesha. Many Hindus cannot see the fun side of Rihanna.
By Neo Joyce
A fortnight ago Rihanna supported, to the delight of farmers, the Indian Farmers’ protests. Now the farmers don’t want her support anymore since they feel that she has mocked their God Ganesha and has discredited her involvement. Many Hindus are livid and accusing Rihanna of cultural appropriation and disrespect of their God Ganesha and Indian people.

Nudism is your culture!
But Ganpati is our God (इष्ट) ,you bloody well wear or not wear that lingerie ,we just don't care. You have no right to hurt sentiments of Ganesh bhakts .
Shame on you!
We are so tired & if we raise voice against this cultural appropriation so we are labelled as hindu extremist. For you all hinduphobics it is just necklace but for us he's god. Please stop telling us wht is offensive & whts not. Audacity of these ppl "hinduphobia doesn't exist"🤡

My Religion ain't your aesthetic!
Rihanna knows how to shock people from around the world. In 2019 she wore Chinese clothing for the cover of Harper’s Bazaar. On another occasion, she used sacred Islamic verses during a lingerie fashion show.
People are wondering if Rihanna’s actions are innocent and she just wants to show she cares and supports people in the world or is it a clever marketing ploy to get known by people who would otherwise never even have known of her existence?
