The reviews give a big thumbs up for Kelly Marie Tran (32) and Awkwafina’s (Nora Lum, 32).
It is Disney’s first Southeast Asian heroine computer-animated action-adventure fantasy film.
Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada are the directors.
The setting is in a faraway country called Kumandra where dragons and humans live in harmony. Evil Druun monsters threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. 500 years later the Druuns have returned and Raya, a courageous warrior princess, together with her pet Tuk Tuk, has to find the last dragon in the country to stop the monster Druun.
With some Southeast Asian snacks and everyone on the couch, it is a super fun film to watch with the entire family. We give it a 10* rating.
