The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is the next in the series Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and will release March 19th on Disney+.
The scenes from the movie take place after Avengers: Endgame which was released in 2019. The characters are Sam Wilson (played by Anthony Mackie) as Falcon and Bucky Barnes (played by Sebastian Stan) as the Winter Soldier. It will have 6 episodes until 23rd April and is part of Phase 4 of the MCU franchise.
The Falcon had been passed the mantle at the end of Avengers:Endgame has had military training in aerial combat but with a wing pack that has been specially designed.
The Winter Soldier is a soldier who was thought to be killed in action during World War II but reemerged as an assassin who has been brainwashed.
Filming actually began in October 2019. It was filmed in the Czech Republic and USA and had delays due to Covid19. Filming completed in October 2020.
The villain is Baron Helmut Zemo played by Daniel Bruhl. He is a Sokovian terrorist and was responsible for the breakup of the Avengers in Captain America: Civil War (2016). In the comics he wears a purple mask which was not used in his last movie, but he does wear it in this new movie.
