By 2017, BTS conquered the global music market and breaking numerous sales records. BTS are the first Korean band to receive a certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). BTS also became the fastest selling group since The Beatles to earn four US number-one albums, doing so in less than two years. “Love Yourself” is the first platinum album awarded to BTS by the RIAA. In 2020 BTS were the first Korean band to reach number one on Billboard Global 200 and US Billboard Hot 100.
Last year, the band members received a $108 windfall on the Korean stock market.
