2020 Netflix biggest documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Madness, and Mayhem and the audience wants more Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage, known professionally as Joe Exotic, and after 10 years this will be revisited by Louis Theroux for BBC2.
Films and documentaries are in the make again about Joe Exotic. Louis Theroux interviewed Joe Exotic first in 2011. Theroux met Joe exotic for his series “America’s Most Dangerous Pets.” 10 years later, the BBC documentary maker is returning to Oklahoma to revisit the Tiger King for a new feature-length BBC2 documentary film and explore what exactly happened since.
The documentary is all about Joe Exotic. Carole Baskin will not be mentioned. In 2019, Exotic was convicted on 17 federal charges of animal abuse (eight violations of the Lacey Act and nine of the Endangered Species Act) and two counts of attempted murder for hire plotting to kill Carole Baskin. He is serving a 22-year prison sentence.
The eight-part Netflix documentary “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness” focused on Joe Exotic, his zoo and his problems with Carole Baskin. The documentary made Joe Exotic a world-famous man.
Louis Theroux documentary “The Cult of Joe Exotic” will air on BBC 2.
