Coming to America with Eddie Murphy was extremely popular and a sequel has been a long time coming. Finally it is close to release – 5th March on Amazon Prime.
After more than 30 years King Akeem are leaving Zamunda again and returning to the USA.
Akeem learns he has an unknown son he never knew about who might be the heir to the throne. The son is a street wise Queens resident named Lavelle (played by Jermaine Fowler). The dying wish of Akeem’s father was to bring up the son as the crown prince. Semmi and Akeem leave for the USA again to find the son.
The lead single, “I’m A King” for the movie is performed by Bobby Sessions and Megan Thee Stallion.
Between the first movie in 1988 and 2021 Eddie Murphy has been prolific in the number of movies he has been involved in, either acting or in move production or both. To name but a few: Another 48 Hours, Boomerang, Beverly Hills Cop III, The Nutty Professor, Doctor Dolittle, Shrek, I Spy, Dreamgirls, Tower Heist. After Coming 2 America Eddie will release Triplets and Beverly Hills Cop 4.
